Magic, Inc. Voted One of 8 Quirkiest Sites in Chicago
According to WHERE Magazine in Chicago, Magicians don't just conjure tricks out of thin air, you know. They purchase them at magic stores, and Chicago's Magic, Inc. is one of the best and oldest, in business since 1926. The compact, slightly musty shop sells how-to videos and books, magician biographies, props (think top hats, silk scarves and magic wands), and thousands of tricks. Some are suitable for hobbyists, others meant for pros like Las Vegas showmen Penn & Teller, Mac King and David Copperfield, all of whom have shopped here. Be sure to look up! The ceiling is dotted with dozens of signed and dated playing cards, like an illusionist's version of a starry sky and the result of the incredible “card on the ceiling” trick. How does it work? You tell us. ONLY IN CHICAGO Magic, Inc. voted one of 8 of the city's quirkiest sights.- by Elisa Drake
